Philosophy

In my work as a psychotherapist I am guided by my clients’ call to wholeness and the creative process. We each have a unique visual language. Experiencing trauma can result in maladaptive and unhealthy habits and beliefs, and our past experiences influence our present reality and our body’s impulses and responses.

By creatively exploring your unique visual language and working symbolically with your individual inherent experiences, my goal is to assist you through your recovery, to expand your self-awareness to welcome and integrate new-found functioning parts of self, whether in body and/or the soul, and to initiate real change.

My commitment as a therapist is to continue to explore my own personal issues and face my fears for my own personal growth and development. This enables you to be guided through your pain and challenges to regain a new sense of self. I would not ask anyone to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.

I believe the challenges we face in our lives aim to stretch and grow us, to guide us to wholeness, to reclaim lost parts and interests, and to let go of self-sabotaging behaviours. When we remain broken and stuck, we have not come out the other side, and thus cannot fulfil the aims of our challenges. The effect of the event, the trauma, and the hurt controls us.

My pledge to you as a therapist is to continue coming out the other side of my own life experience. I will continue to further my understanding of my vulnerabilities and my strengths so I am better at meeting you from my humanity. I will work in collaboration with you to get your life back.

I am able to work with anyone who wants to repair and recover from life’s challenges.
